Fiber Art Options at Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens

Fiber Art Options will open an exhibition at Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens on Saturday October 1 that runs until early November. There will be multiple pieces from each of our seven members. The work is inspired by photos taken in the garden last fall.

Much of the work will be for sale, and cards and other items will be for sale in the gift shop. Please come check us out.

I have been creating this piece and another new piece for the exhibition. The poke berry is one of my favorite plants with great architectural form, wonderful dark purple berries that the birds love and big dramatic leaves that can turn a great color in the fall. The stems holding the berries really are red.



I will be giving a workshop on Saturday November 5 on my techniques of creating designs inspired by nature and the tools I use to get them onto cloth.

Lakewood Colorado Opening

Friday September 9 was a great day. Re-visioning Fiber, curated by Regina Benson, opened in three galleries at the Lakewood CO Cultural Center. The entry of the exhibition contained all three artists' work.

All of the artists were there for the opening and for artists' talks on Saturday morning. This next photo is of Nancy Koenigsberg in front of her Golden Dawn. She creates complex structures of coated wire. This piece also has some beading at the wire junctures. It glistened in the lights.


The next photo is of Tempest. She does wonderful abstracts of nature that convey the feelings very well from light and airy to dense and complex.










These next photos are of Jason Pollen's work. Much of his work is based on small collages of fabrics. The tall skinny pieces are his Sentinels that mimic the only way he could stand following difficult back surgery.



























These banners by Regina Benson hung in the entry way and flowed with air currents. Regina starts with white cloth and adds and subtracts color until she gets the effect she wants. Her work is very sculptural, often coming off the wall.





































Several intrigued viewers saw a man climbing into one of my pieces. I love to learn what others find in my artwork.













A lot of my work was on the open balcony on the second floor outside the room where we did the artist talks.
