New Work -- Blueberries

This is a detail shot of my newest piece designed around blueberries. Love the many colors on the berries that are in many stages of ripening.

Friends shared photos and specimens with me for inspiration. I am beginning a new series on berries, fruits and buds of trees and plants. Gallery curators see my series "Seed Play" as ideal for a winter exhibition. Now I want work for spring and summer.

What is your favorite berry or bud?

  1. I love olallieberry -- but then we're talking taste!

on the other hand, the whole structure of these lovelies is really beautiful, and might lend itself to a piece of your work --- lots of curve and texture to quilt around

  2. Bev, I am not familiar with the olallieberry. Will Google it. Nancy

  3. Beautiful work, Nancy. I really like Snowberries - my daughter has many in her yard/forest.

  4. Nancy, you 'see' so well, and interpret in such a botanical style! Wow!

  5. Margaret, what a lovely comment. One of the real joys of my work is that it slows me down to really "see" a gift of nature.
